Aiten Ryu ("Love of Heaven School") is a Christian martial
arts school in Tang Soo Do. We meet at The
Episcopal Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Placentia, Orange County, CA. Our chief
instructor is the Rev. David M. Baumann, SSC (Rector and Founder).

There will be no class from December 21 through the end of the month.

Training is normally given in the following areas
BASIC MOTIONS: twelve punches and blocks; combinations
SPARRING: 1-step, 3-step, free
KICKS: front, round, side, back, hook, other (e.g., ax, crescent); snap, thrust, spinning, flying
KI EXERCISES: kiai, breaking, focus (e.g. putting out candles)
FORMS: Tang Soo Do forms; iaido (basic samurai sword forms)
REALITY-BASED TECHNIQUES: self-defense techniques, including defense against weapons
WEAPONS: invitation-only class taught on Thursday (6:30-7:00 p.m.) by Owens Sensei

6:00-7:00 p.m. white, yellow, orange and green belts
7:00-8:30 p.m. blue, purple, brown, red, and black belts
Thursday Night
5:30-6:30 p.m. white, yellow, orange and green belts
6:30-7:00 p.m. weapons class - by invitation
7:00-8:30 p.m. blue, purple, brown, red, and black belts
Saturday
9:30-10:30 a.m. white, yellow, orange, and belts
10:30 a.m.-Noon blue, purple, brown, red, and black belts
Students who are unable to attend the class scheduled for their rank may
attend another class with the permission of the Sensei or Assistant Sensei. |
