Aiten Ryu spent 3 days at Wrightwood Episcopal Camp near Big Bear, CA August 18-21.

The main lodge.

Alex relaxes in Katie's hammock.

Anne worked on some landscaping during free time.

The girls strike a pose.

The pose is definitely a hit ...

Alex and Katie

Amanda and Katherine

Jonathan, Alex, Adam and Micah

Molly, Sarah and Alex

Lights on after the Kung Fu movie ... Was Jonathan unimpressed by the film? or does this show the great effort he put into karate practice that day?

Jenny, Amanda and Katherine get sleepy too.

Our sensei.

Micah is proud of his young proteges, Mark and Jonathan, as they stoke up the fire.

Alicia's terrific bruise! (No, she wasn't sparring with the sensei ... this was from archery.)

Sarah and Daniel fence with BlowPops.
Mealtimes

Emily H., Fr. Wilfredo, Chris and Elijah help themselves.

Elijah and Joe

L-R: Fr. David, Fr. Wilfredo, Stephen, Elijah, Joe, Ted, Adam.

L-R: Jay, Anne, Sarah, Leslie, Micah, Emily H.

Joey demonstrates how to truly enjoy one's BBQ ribs.

Jonathan and Mark after a good meal.
Games

Fr. David gets help in working on a crossword puzzle.

In the karate written exam, Katie documents proof of Daniel cheating off of Ted's paper.

Elijah tells his dad he doesn't think he wants to do karate anymore if it means written exams ...

During the treasure hunt, this team attempts the fourth form, pyong ahn cho-dan (Joe, Elijah, Anne, Stephen).

It gets a little difficult when they have to turn around (fortunately when Leslie made up the treasure hunt, she forgot that all team members would be tied together ... he he.) :o)

This team successfully demonstrates the first form, taeguk cho-dan (Katherine, Jenny, Ted, Emily).

The winning team! (Mark, Alex and Molly, with their fearless leader, Adam Bunny-ear).

Aiten Ryu creates a 4th Taeguk form, which incorporates a conga line among other moves ...

Actually, it's a line showing who each person's secret prayer partner was all week.
