Mom G: You are a gifted photographer, Daniel - AWESOME PICTURES!

jeff: It looks like it's got eyes!

Mom G: Maybe its my poor vision, but it looks like a baby ostrich sitting in a cup . . . or in a stroller . . . .

Mom G: Is there any more creative being in the universe than God? We can't even begin to duplicate His creativity . . . . wow . . . .

jeff: Beautiful! The composition is interesting, the depth of field covers all of the flower, and there's nice bokeh.

Katie: bokeh? eh?

Daniel: Bokeh is the fancy name for background blur that you get when using a longer focal length and/or larger aperture.

Katie: yeah, it hurt a lot, but I took courage from seeing the girl next to me plunge her hand into the sharp spikes...

just kidding. This was a huge magnet, and the iron filings made really interesting formations on it. The attraction was so strong, you could put filings on top of your hand and they would act the same!
