Katie: Thankfully, this log was not slick ... I never enjoyed finding out if a log was slippery or not, because the only way was to find out the hard way!

MOM Peckham: Good balance! I praise God all the time that you all did not have serious injuries, or illness. It's truly amazing, and God's hand of protection was obviously with you.

Aaron: Neat! I just happened to notice a very similar creature from Queensland called a Boyd's Forest Dragon on a calendar in my office. So apparently this is some kind of Hypsilurus (genus name). Maybe it is an unknown variety that you could name the Lloyd's Forest Dragon.

Daniel: Ah, interesting. Thanks for the help in identifying it. Sounds like a good name! =)

MOM Peckham: I love all these pictures and your great comments. Thanks for sharing these.

Daniel: Thanks, Mom.

Hey, I'm impressed to see that you're using Firefox instead of IE. Way to go! =)

MOM Peckham: I think I see some trail mix... Ymmm.

adam: cool shot. Love the light coming through the leaves.

Aaron: Nice! A tasty jungle treat... it has been too long since I last enjoyed the generosity of the rainforest.

Daniel: Katie's really good at reading out loud in the Sera language, even if she doesn't understand most of it.

Sharon: That's awesome, Katie. How incredible to read something you don't understand, but to know that the people listening are drinking in every word...

Katie: I hiked behind Boaz that day, who carried the charred hindquarter onwards (we noticed that in the chain of command Boaz, being youngest, was always made to do the gruntwork, poor guy). It was not exactly pleasant hiking, because the whole way I felt like someone was holding my face in a BBQ pit ... that scent of blackened meat just wouldn't quit.

Katie: You can see the nice ventilation that our tents had, when the rain flies weren't on ... this was great not only for regulating temperatures in such a hot climate, but for letting out the awful stench that inevitably built up in the tents each night from our grime and stink from the day.

Daniel: You can also see the yellowish-orange water in our water bottles (by the backpack). No, this wasn't from Tang powder. This was purified water from a tiny pool of standing water -- our only source of water that evening. We ended up with a couple inches of silt at the bottom of our water bottles, which was really disgusting, but better than no water.

Katie: no, that's not a small gorilla coming up behind me out of the shadows ...

Daniel: These houses are so nice because you get a great breeze when you don't have walls.

Tim: Love the REI hats. Those must have been expensive...

Katie: Oh yeah, I'll pay ANYTHING for quality

Daniel: The tent was to keep the Malaria-carrying mosquitos away.
